At the Metro Manila Film Festival in 1991, Jackie Lou won the award for “Best Actress” for her role in the movie “Kahit Buhay Ko.”

Jacqueline Lourdes Corrales Blanco-Davao, popularly known as Jackie Lou Blanco, was born on February 11, 1964 in Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines. Her mother Pilita Corrales was a singer and actress while her father Gonzalo Blanco was a thespian and director. 

Growing up, Jackie was influenced by her mother and this pushed her to pursue a career in acting. 

As of 2024, she is 60 years old. She also acquired formal education from the University of the Phillipines, Open University where she obtained an associate degree in Arts.

Acting

Jackie Lou Blanco started her career as an actress in 1980 after being influenced by her mother. Her first big break came that year when she starred in the movie “Siga.” Jackie's acting in Siga did not only show her prowess as an actress but it also earned her praises from critics and film enthusiasts. 

At a point in her career, Jackie Lou Blanco starred alongside her mother Pilita Corrales in the sitcom “Vampire ang Daddy Ko.” She and her mother played the younger and older character of Sonya Ventura respectively. 

Some of the popular films Jackie Lou Blanco has appeared in oven the course of her acting career include “Palabra de Honor,” “Misis Mo, Misis Ko,” “Si Aida, Si Lorna, o Si Fe,” “A Secret Affair,” “Trophy Wife Your Place Or Mine,” “Bob Ong's Lumayo Ka Nga Sa Akin: Asawa ni Marie,” to mention a few. 

Co-hosting

In 1982, Jackie Lou started co-hosting “Student Canteen,” a popular noontime show on GMA Network. She remained a co-host of the show until it was cancelled in 1986. 

Jackie was also a regular figure on “GMA Supershow,” a Sunday musical show on GMA Network. From 2006 - 2008, she appeared regularly on television as a co-host in Walang Tulugan.
