Aparna Vastarey, born in 1966, was a Kannada actress who was renowned for her impact in the Indian film industry. She was a radio jockey and television presenter who worked with All India Radio and presented shows that aired on DD Chandana.

On July 11, 2024 Aparna Vastarey died after suffering from stage four lung cancer for two years.

• She made her first appearance as an actress in 1984 in the film “Masanada Hoovu.” She then went on to starr in other television shows like “Mukta,” “Majaa Talkies,” and “Moodala Mane.”
• She started her career as a television presenter in 1990, working in Kannada television with DD Chandana
• In 1993, she started working with All India Radio as a radio jockey and later worked as the first presenter of AIR FM Rainbow
• In 2011, she offered her voice to be recorded for use at the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). Her voice was behind Namma Metro’s automated announcements for passengers boarding and deboarding
• She died of lung cancer complications in July 2024
• She was married to popular Kannada architect and writer Nagaraj Vastarey
