Samuel Rubinstein, popularly known as Sam Rubin, was born on February 16, 1960, in San Diego, California, United States. 

He attended Occidental College where he acquired a degree in American Studies and Rhetoric.

Sam Rubin started his career as a journalist in 1991 when he joined the popular Morning News program on KTLA. For his warm personality on and off the air as well as his disarming interviews, he was able to earn a reputation for himself at KTLA. 

Other than his time at KTLA, Sam Rubin also worked in the United Kingdom as a Hollywood Entertainment reporter on “This Morning,” a program on ITV. 

Having worked as a reporter in the entertainment industry for over 30 years, Sam was opportuned to interview various celebrities and famous figures in the industry. He also co-authored the biographies of two popular figures; actress Mia Farrow and former first lady Jacqueline Onassis.
