Sidi Ali Early Life, Background and Education
Adamu Muhammad Sidi-Ali, simply known as Sidi Ali, was born on May 14, 1937. Although his exact place of birth is not known, it is at least known that he was a native of Abaji Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Ali attended the Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria where he acquired a B.A. in Public Administration.

Journalism
After graduating from the university, Sidi Ali started his career as a journalist. He was popularly known to be a human library and prolific writer who was capable of recounting some of the events that occurred in Nigeria up until late independence.
Throughout his illustrious career as a journalist, Ali made noteworthy contributions to institutions like the National Broadcasting Commission, the Ministry of Information, and the Nigerian International Press Center.
Politics
Sidi Ali started his political career as Chairman of the Abaji Area council in the Federal Capital Territory. After completing his first tenure, he was re-elected as Chairman for a second term.
In 2005, while representing the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), Sidi Ali was elected as a member of the House of Representatives of Nigeria for Abuja South Federal Constituency. His jurisdiction covered areas like Abaji, Kwali, Kuje, and Gwagwalada, Kuje, Kwali and Abuja area councils.
After his time as member of the House of Representatives, Ali switched allegiance from the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) to the People's Democratic Party (PDP). In 2008, following a re-run election, he emerged as Senator for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). That same year, he was named a member of the National Assembly Joint Committee on Constitution Review (JCCR).
In 2015, for a second time, Sidi Ali was elected Senator for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), this time as a candidate of the All Progressive Party (APC). He defeated the incumbent and PDP candidate, Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda.

Although not much is known about Sidi Ali's personal life, it is at least known that he is the father of Hakama Sidi Ali, the acting Director of the Corporate Communication Department at the Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN).
