Born and raised in Kibbutz Nir Oz, Shiri was known for her gentle and pure heart. She inherited a passion for education from her mother, Margit, and dedicated herself to nurturing the kibbutz's children. 

Her artistic flair was evident in the events she organized and the costumes she crafted for her kids. Friends and family remember her for her self-deprecating humor and unwavering support. 

A fan of Robbie Williams, Shiri treated herself to his concert in Israel after the birth of her son. 


Family Life

Shiri's life was centered around her family. She shared a deep bond with her husband, Yarden, characterized by mutual respect and love. 

Together, they created a home filled with laughter and warmth. Their sons, Ariel and Kfir, were the light of their lives. 

Tragically, Shiri's parents, Margit and Yossi, were murdered during the same attack that led to her abduction.  


The Abduction and Aftermath

On October 7, 2023, Hamas militants attacked Kibbutz Nir Oz, abducting Shiri and her two sons. Heart-wrenching footage showed Shiri holding her children during the kidnapping.

Initially, there was hope for their safe return, especially after Yarden was released on February 1, 2025. 

However, on February 22, 2025, the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute confirmed that Shiri and her sons were murdered during their captivity.
