Easy Matjila is a broadcaster and newsreader. He started his career working as a on-air radio personality for Radio Setswana (now known as Motsweding FM after merging with Radio Mmabatho). As an on-air radio personality, he caught the attention of South Africans with his language proficiency and exceptional broadcasting skills. He also managed archives for Radio Swazi (Ligwalagwala FM), Radio Ndebele (Ikwekwezi FM), and Afrikaans Service.
As a result of his proficiency in the Setswana language Easy Matjila was made the Setswana sports commentator for SABC Topsport (SABC Sports). In addition to that, he also worked as a prime-time news presenter and bulletin editor for SABC, reading news in Sesotho, Sepedi, and Setswana languages.
In 2021, Easy Matjila retired as a broadcaster and newsreader, bringing an end to his illustrious career which spanned 30 years. For his contribution to the South African broadcasting industry and to the promotion of Sesotho, Sepedi, and Setswana languages, he was given a Honorary Doctorate in Humanities by the North-West University (NWU), his alma mater.
